Always feel for the Descending Aorta and Femoral Artery before use on the front of the body. The Descending Aorta can be vulnerable in the lower stomach region adjacent to the Psoas muscle. The Femoral Artery lies medial the Rectus Femoris, running down the inside of the leg.

For these reasons, do not massage medial (closer to midline) to the Psoas or Rectus Femoris muscles. See Hip Flexor Release for Psoas and Rectus Femoris anatomy.
